SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor) treatment tank is a biological treatment tank using a continuous batch reaction process. It is an improved form of the traditional Aerotank biological tank.

I. The operating cycle of the tank with 5 phases is carried out as follows

SBR tanks operate in a cyclic cycle with 5 phases including: Filling, aeration, settling, draining and resting. Each alternate step will be carefully selected based on expert understanding of biological reactions.

1, Filling phase: Wastewater is pumped into the treatment tank in about 1-3 hours (usually the tank filling time is about 2 hours). During tank filling, depending on treatment goals, input BOD and COD content or treatment needs, the filling process can change flexibly: Filling – static, filling – mixing, filling-aeration.

2, Aeration phase:Conduct aeration for the treatment tank so that biochemical reactions between wastewater and activated sludge take place. Continuous aeration time depends on input wastewater quality and output wastewater quality requirements, usually about 8 hours. During the reaction phase, the process of BOD and COD reduction takes place thanks to aerobic microorganisms, and at the same time, the conversion of nitrogen-containing compounds from N-NH3 to N-NO is carried out. 22- and quickly converts to N – NO3-

3, Sedimentation phase:Sedimentation in water. The process takes place in a static environment. After continuous aeration, the wastewater has been treated by microorganisms, reducing the concentration of pollutants to the allowable level and will move to the sludge settling process. This process takes place similar to that in a biological sludge settling tank, but the only difference is that the settling process takes place right in the SBR tank. Sludge settling and thickening time usually takes 2 hours (depending on operating requirements).

4, Water withdrawal phasec: The clear water after settling in the tank will be attracted by a surface water suction device or discharge valve (requires precise design to avoid discharge of sludge. outside).

5, Waiting phase: Waiting to load a new batch, waiting time depends on operating time.
